How to get glowing skin??
65Attraction of face depends upon beautiful, clean, tender, smooth and glowing skin. Environment, tension, unbalanced food etc affect the skin very easily; due to these factors the natural beauty of skin gets reduced. To maintain the attraction of skin; proper cleaning, care and adequate nourishments are needed.
To give a proper care to the skin, one needs to know the type of skin, let us see ->
1. Normal skin 2. Oily skin 3. Dry skin 4. Mixed skin 5. Sensitive skin
How to know the type of skin ->
One can very easily identify the type of skin by taking tissue paper test. As soon as you wake up, take tissue paper test. Take 4 different tissue papers and press one by one on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Remember you have to just press the tissue paper, please don’t rub it over the skin.
1. If all the tissue papers have oil on them, your skin is an oily skin.
2. If the tissue papers of nose, chin and forehead have oil but the tissue paper of cheek is free of oil, this means the skin is mixed skin type.
3. If none of the tissue papers have oil on them, it means the skin is either a dry skin or a normal skin.
4. To distinguish between dry and normal skin, clean your face with paste of flour of gram or wheat.
5. After cleaning the skin if you feel that your skin is pulling apart that is very tight then your skin is a dry skin.
6. If you feel that skin is smooth and elastic then your skin is a normal skin.
7. A sensitive skin is generally full of acne and it is very easily affected by pollution etc.
Care->
After knowing the type of skin, you can take adequate steps to take care of your skin. For this follow this 4-step skin care program –
1st STEP : Facial Compression
In the first step, facial compression technique is followed. This is a simple and important process. This process is used to clean the skin off dust, dirt and pollution. For this wash your face with some soft soap. You might use baby soap or glycerin based soap. Now, clean your face with a soft, wet towel. Soak the towel in water and keep this wet towel for a little time on your face and neck. Repeat this process 5-7 times. Water, which should be used to soak the towel, should be decided as per type of your skin.
1. Normal skin – Cold or luke warm water
2. Oily skin - Cold or luke warm water
3. Dry skin - Luke warm water
4. Mixed skin - Luke warm water
5. Sensitive skin - Luke warm or warm water
6. Diseased skin – Cold or luke warm water
7. Strained skin - Warm water (don’t use very warm water)
2nd STEP : Cleansing
After 1st step your skin is ready for cleansing. Now take a very good quality cleanser and apply it on face and neck. Slowly massage for a few minutes with the help of your fingers and palm. Then clean your skin with luke warm water. Now give a spray of cold water on your face. Take a clean cloth and slowly dry up the extra droplets from your face. For this process use the following as per type of the skin->
1. Normal skin - Cleansing gel, cleansing milk, foam free soap
2. Oily skin - Oil free cleansing gel
3. Old oily skin - Oil free cleansing gel, cleansing milk
4. Dry skin - Cleansing milk, cleansing cream
5. Mixed skin - Cleansing milk
6. Diseased skin - Oil free cleansing gel
7. Aging skin - Cleansing milk, cleansing cream
3rd STEP : Toning
After cleansing the skin should be toned. Toner clears the remains of the dirt present on your skin. Toner also optimizes the skin, which gets effected due to acid PH chemicals used during cleansing process. Always use alcohol free toners.
Toner should not be used for mixed, dry and sensitive skins.
4th STEP : Moisturizing
Moisturizing is the last step. This helps in making the skin soft and glowing. Moisturizers
which contain hyaluronic acid, linolenic acid, sodium PCA, Phospholipids are good the save the skin for long term. A Good moisturizer must also contain humectants, urea, sorbitol, and glycerin, which absorb moisture from the atmosphere and supply it to the skin thus help stop aging.
Moisturizer should be changed as per prevalent weather and environment. A fat containing lubricating moisturizer should be used in cold weather whereas a light non-lubricating moisturizer should be used in summer and rainy days.
All the above steps just take 15-30 mins. If your skin is normal, oily, mixed or defected then use all the steps every time you are giving care to your skin. If the skin is dry, sensitive or aging one, apply all the steps once only in the eve whereas do the moisturizing part only, in the morning. So, use these steps regularly to get a glowing, ever young skin.
